Educational Therapy
-
Comprehensive learning consultations include interviews, assessment, and recommendations for educaitonal intervention, support, and planning.
-
Executive functioning intervention to improve cognitive skills and behavioral patterns, with special focus on organization and planning.
-
Metacognition is the ability to become aware of your own thinking. Metacognitive skills are skills that you can develop to become aware of how you think, and to develop new cognitive skills, across academic content areas.
As an educational therapist, I apply cutting-edge psychological, educational, and developmental research to create highly individualized educational plans and interventions for neurodivergent students and students with disabilities. I help students and their families identify and pursue educational and developmental goals which empower students throughout their educational journeys, across educational domains. My practice emphasizes executive functioning skills and metacognitive learning, as well as self-advocacy. I empower students to build awareness of their own thought processes and behaviors, encouraging self-motivated growth alongside self-acceptance. I am a neurodiversity-affirming and neurodivergent educator.
Disability Consulting
-
I am passionate about connecting parents to information and resources related to their child’s disability, so that they can make informed choices for their child’s education and care.
-
I became an educational consultant because I wanted to empower students with disabilities as self advocates. I help students forge a self-determined path for their education.
-
I love to partner with educators to envision more accessible and inclusive schools. I can work with educators to support individual students, or to improve educational programs and curriculum.
My educational consulting services are geared towards supporting the whole family. In order to empower my students, I believe that I also need to partner with and support the student’s parents or guardians— the student’s number one most important resource and influence. I collaborate with students and parents to help the family create a long-term educational plan that everyone can feel good about. I provide guidance and recommendations for disability accommodations, assistive technology use, supplemental learning interventions, developmental support, alternative schooling, college planning, work-life balance, and more. I have a personal interest in autism, ADHD, processing disorders, and memory; I also am passionate about supporting students living with chronic illness, chronic pain, or mental health challenges.
College & Career Consulting
-
I help high school students develop the executive functioning skills and self-advocacy skills needed to succeed in college. I help students manage the many demands of the college-prep track, such as managing college-level courses, building their resume, and taking standardized exams.
-
I support students and families throughout every step of the college admissions process, including: resume building, personal statement writing, creating a shortlist of colleges, applying for college, applying for scholarships, and deciding where to enroll.
-
The transition to college can be very challenging, especially for students with disabilities. I provide executive functioning and self-advocacy support for first year college students, providing guidance for both academic and life skills.
-
Applying to jobs, internships, and volunteer positions can be overwhelming for college students. I help students to stay organized, present professionally, and build confidence as they build the beginnings of their career.
I am passionate about guiding students, especially students with disabilities, through every stage of their pursuit of higher education. I help high school and community college students with college prep; building skills for college readiness. I guide students through the college admissions process, supporting them as they build impressive applications, and counseling them as they determine where to apply and what college to attend. I support first-year college students with disabilities as they navigate their transition to college, helping them navigate numerous aspects of college life. During college, I consult with students to help them discern a career path that they are passionate about, and I aid them in building their resume for career readiness.
